Links at Lakewood Golf Course, previously named Lakewood Links, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Sumter, South Carolina.
The course first opened for play in 1989. The course was designed by J. Porter Gibson.
The course has many trees scattered throughout the layout which can alter your shots. Hazards include several ponds that come into play on eleven holes. The greens are well bunkered and elevated, and there are some sand bunkers in the fairways.
#9, a 421-yard par-4 is the #1 handicaped hole. A pond intersects the fairway right down the middle, making one think twice about hitting their driver off the tee.
#13, a par-3. is the signature hole. From the tee box, golfers take aim at a scenic island green stationed 173 yards in the distance.
#14 is a double-dogleg par-5.
Blue tees: par-72, 6,826 yards, 71.8 / 131
White tees: par-72, 6,120 yards, 68.9 / 116
Yellow tees: par-72, 5,272 yards, 65.6 / 101
Red tees: par-72, 4,732 yards, 68.2 / 116

New owner as of March 2014. Course closed for three months for massive renovation. Re-opened August 1, 2014. Fairways are greener and more lush than the 10 years I have played the course. Greens are mini-verde and in great shape. Challenging course that makes you think about your drives and approaches. Back tees can be a real challenge. Course is in best shape in over 10+ years.
